Our commitment

BOSHAT wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice control, magnification, or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we have done

  • Every page is tested with automated accessibility checks, which report no known violations.
  • Everything can be reached and used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
  • Text and controls meet contrast requirements, and text can be enlarged to 200% without loss.
  • Photographs have text descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Forms have clear labels, and errors are announced in words, not just colour.
  • If you have asked your device to reduce motion, all animation on the site is switched off.
  • The site works on phones, tablets, and desktop screens, in portrait and landscape.

Known limitations

Some documents and pages we link to, such as news articles, are published by others and may not be fully accessible. Photographs added over time may occasionally be missing a description; tell us and we will fix it.

Tell us about a problem

If anything on this site is hard to use, please tell us. We will reply within five business days and, where we can, fix it or give you the same information another way.
